"THE POWER OF DIVINE REMEMBRANCE"
Psalms 20:1 "To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.» The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; 2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion"
INTRODUCTION
The help you expect from God will not necessarily come to you as a result of what you do now. Sometimes, if not always, divine help comes to you as a result of God's remembrance of what he told you in the past or of what you did in the past.
THE GOD OF REMEMBRANCE
When we speak about God's remembrance, we do not mean that God can ever forget. Rather, we speak about God stepping in someone's life to fulfil his promises and bring him help in time of trouble.
So understood, God's remembrance is when God arises to give special attention to someone. It is when God intervenes personnally to bless, to deliver, to change level, to break the yoke, to release the prisoner...
Everytime the Lord Almighty steps in to help a man, the force of remembrance is always engaged to make it happen. And when God remembers a man, those who have forgotten him will just suddenly remember him.
Case 1 | Concerning Joseph, before he gets out of the prison, the Lord caused the butler who forgot him after 2 years to remember him suddenly.
Genesis 41:9 "Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day: [...] V 12 And [there was] there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret."
Case 2 | Concerning Mordecai, before he moves from the gatekeeper status to the prime minister status, the Lord caused the king to lack sleep the whole night so that he could remember the good work Mordecai did to him.
Esther 6:1 "On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king."
CONCLUSION
Does it look to you like God has forgotten you? The God of remembrance is the God who remembers his covenant. He remembered Joseph because two years ago, he kept his integrity by refusing to have sex with Pothphar's wife. God had remember Mordecai because some years ago, he kept his faith by refusing to bow before Haman.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS
Today, I see God remembering you. I see God zooming His attention on you. I see God bringing you into focus. This divine force will pull you out of obscurity into limelight. It will give you the position you do not deserve. It will terminate years of stagnation and pain. God will remember you today in Jesus Name.
PRAYERS
# Pray God for the grace to walk like Joseph in integrity even if it means to suffer for it.
# Pray God for the grace to keep your faith like Mordecai even if iti means to pay the price of it.
# Pray God and tell him today, "Lord, remember me ... "
