WORD OF THE DAY

Good day to all. Today is the 99th day of the year 2018. It remains 266days before the end of the year.

The Lord tells you today in Joel 2:21 "Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things."

TAKE YOUR SEAT OF REST 

If there's one fact to know about the temple in Jerusalem, it is the fact that there was no seat in it. Under the law, the priests were not allowed to sit as they were ministering. The only position allowed for them was standing as we can read in Hebrews 10:11 "Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins."

Why was it that way?

It was that way because the priests work was never done and so he could never sit down and rest in the fact that he was finished for good.

The Good News is this. After his death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead, the Bible confirms clearly that Jesus Christ our high priest is seated at the right hand of the Father. And we are seated together with  him as it is written in Ephesians 2:6 "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus"*

What does Jesus' sitting down mean to us?

It is a picture of perfect and complete rest.

Brethren, I have a Good News for you today, there is a seat of rest in heavenly places that belongs to you right now where Jesus Christ is seated.

Do you know that as a believer you are seated right now in the heavenly places with Christ ? 

My questions to you today are these : 

Why are you living in the worry of tomorrow? TAKE YOUR SEAT OF REST because the Lord says to you today,

"Don’t ever worry about tomorrow. After all, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34)

Why are you living in the fear of the unknown future? TAKE YOUR SEAT OF REST because the Psalmist says to you in Psalms 31:15 

"My future is in your hands."

Why are you living in the guilt of your past mistakes? TAKE YOUR SEAT OF REST because the Bible says in Romans 8:1 

"There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ"

Why are you living constantly stressed and pressured by the uunpaid bills? the unpaid rent? by the unpaid school fees? TAKE YOUR SEAT OF REST because The Bible says to you today in Philippians 4:6 

"Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks."

Why are you living sad? Unhappy? Overwhelmed? TAKE YOUR SEAT OF REST because God says to you in Zephaniah 3:14

"Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem."

CONCLUSION

MY FRIEND, TAKE YOUR SEAT OF REST AND REST IN THE LORD FOR HE CARES FOR YOU AND HE FIGHTS YOUR BATTLES.
