THE BLOOD OF EXEMPTION
2:18 Behold, [when] we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee.
2:19 And it shall be, [that] whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood [shall be] upon his head, and we [will be] guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood [shall be] on our head, if [any] hand be upon him.
The story of Rahab is intriguing; because her life was spared due to her faith in the God of Israel, and her plea for the salvation of her life, and her household.
The simple emblem of a SCARLET THREAD hanging out her window was sufficient to spare her and her household; despite God's overthrow of Jericho - which was walled up to the heavens.
Because of the SCARLET THREAD - her life was REDEEMED, SAVED and ESCAPED from Destruction!
The SCARLET THREAD is that RED CORD which is a picture of the BLOOD OF JESUS - that Redemptive thread which flows through all the books of Scripture, and which points us to Jesus, and our need for His Grace and Saving Blood!
It's the same picture as the BLOOD OF THE LAMB over the Doorways of every Israelite household during that fateful Exodus night in Egypt just 40 years prior to.
It is written in Exodus 12:13
"And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye [are]: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy [you], when I smite the land of Egypt."It is written again in Exodus 12:23
"For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite [you]."
CONCLUSION
Today, our prayer will essentially be offered to the Father to cover our families under the redemptive power of the lamb's blood against the attacks of the enemy, against contrary alliances, against family spirits etc.
IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, I DECLARE AND I DECREE YOUR EXEMPTION FROM THE ASSAULTS OG THE ENEMY BECAUSE OF THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!
IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, I DECLARE AND I DECREE YOUR EXEMPTION FROM THE ASSAULTS OG THE ENEMY BECAUSE OF THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!
SO SHALL IT BE!
JESUS IS LORD!
