THE LAW OF INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE
In its military expeditions, Israel was always preceded by spies who were commissioned to collect as much information as possible for the conquest. It was true that God has promised them the land, but it was also true that to possess it, they needed relevant information to assure the conquest.
Why are information and knowledge important for conquest?
1st reason: Because of the danger of ignorance
In the Word of God, there are only two places where we see Jesus weeping: on the death of Lazarus (John 11:35) and on the ignorance of his people.
Luke 19:41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, [...] 19:44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
The scriptures are clear that since the foundation of the world, ignorance has been one of the most adulated weapons of the devil.
- He uses it as a prison to keep men his captive, slaves, prisoners (Isaiah 5:13 )
- He uses it by blinding the mind of men and by keeping them in confusion to continue manipulating, oppressing and tormenting them ( 2 Corinthians 4: 4 )
- He uses it to empty the Word of God of His influence, impact, and effects into the hearts of men ( Matthew 13:19 ).
2nd reason: Because ignorance equals obscurity
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were originally created as gods, but they did not know it. Because of their ignorance, they fell into the trap of the devil who offered them to become who they already were.
Being ignorant is like being in darkness and being blind. What happens when someone is in the dark? Jesus says in John 12:35
"... he who walks in darkness knows not where he is going. "
The Lord teaches us by this word that when someone is in darkness, direction and discernment will fail him. He does not know where he is going. He tries to move forward, but it's groping and trial error. The consequence is that he will cause damage on the way and find himself finally in the pit of torment as Jesus Christ states in Matthew 15:14
"... if a blind man leads a blind man, they will both fall into a pit ."
3rd reason: Because knowledge is a power
If ignorance is a weapon of the devil, the corresponding weapon to counter it, destroy it and annihilate it is knowledge. If ignorance is a prison of the devil, the key to getting out of it is knowledge. ( Proverbs 11: 9)
Knowledge contains in it:
- The liberating power : it has the power to liberate and bring out of slavery. ( John 11:32 )
- The illuminating power : it brings light, drives out darkness, brings out ignorance. And when comes knowledge, also comes wealth. (2 Corinthians 4: 6 )
- The promoting and elevating power : it promotes, it exalts the one who possesses it. ( Proverbs 4: 8 )
APPLICATION
There are people who pray for marriage, but they have never read a single book about marriage, and they have never attended a single marriage seminar.
It is not enough to pray to God for marriage, for employment, for business projects, etc. So you have to invest in having knowledge and information about the things you pray for.
WHAT TO DO ?
- § To know, one must learn at the feet of the Lord as a disciple.
- § To know, you have to read and understand what you read.
- § To know, you have to do research
- § To know, you must pray

In 2018,
- which books do you intend to read? In which domain?Who are the authors?
- What are the studies that you intend to undertake?
- What investment do you plan to make to increase your knowledge?
- What is the area of your life in which you find deficiencies and you would like to improve? What information do you want to acquire and in which area?
