THE LAW OF WALKING ORDERLY
BASIC TEXT
Joshua 6: 7 " Walk, go around the city, and let the armed men pass before the ark of the LORD. "
INTRODUCTION
We do not conquer a territory if beforehand we do not walk on it and if we do not walk in a certain way. Our conquest is determined by our walking. In Joshua 6: 7, Joshua says to the people:
"Walk, go around the city, and let the armed men pass before the ark of the LORD. "
We all know that in sports competition (football, volleyball, etc.), there are specific rules established to determine the winning team and the losing team. No team ever wins the cup when the players on the field play as it seems good to them.
This is what Paul the apostle Paul states in 2 Timothy 2: 5 :
"And if a man also strive for masteries, [yet] is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully."
There was no way the people could conquer Jericho without aligning their walk to a definite divine order. Why ? Because our God is not the God of disorder but the God of order as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:33
"For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
WHY WALKING IS A LAW OF CONQUEST?
1st reason: Because it is a divine instruction.
After God has promised Abraham that he would give him the promised land, he instructed him to walk through it to possess it by faith.
Genesis 13:17 "Rise up, walk the land in its length and breadth; for I will give it to you."
2nd reason: Because God will put in your hand a territory if you put your foot on it.
1 Corinthians 14:33 "God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
3rd reason: Because walking means having the upper hand and dominating.
No one can conquer anything unless he dominates it. Jesus says in Luke 10:19
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
4th reason: Because walking refers to a way of living, a lifestyle, habits, behaviors of an individual or a group of individuals.
Conquering requires a way of being, a way of life, habits and behaviors specific to conquerors.
Ephesians 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.
2 John 1: 6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
WHAT WAS THE ORDER OF WALKING FOR THE CONQUEST OF JÉRICHO?
To conquer Jericho, the people had to follow strictly God's instructions given through Joshua the established leader.
What does Joshua represent for us?
Joshua represents to us today the head of the Church, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Joshua represents also the spiritual leader whom the Lord Jesus Christ sets over your life to lead you in his ways.
CONCLUSION
Just as no army in the world can win a single battle when the military does not comply with the instructions of the army commander, so your conquest will be only illusory if you do not subscribe to the requirement of walking in obedience and submission to the Lord's instructions.
My brother, my sister, let me tell you that conquest does not belong and will never belong to disobedient, rebel and unruly people. There is no way you can conquer anything in life if you want to do things as they seem good for you and if you believe that you do not need to receive instruction from anyone.
Today, ARISE IN OBEDIENCE, WALK IN OBEDIENCE AND POSSESS YOUR JERICHO IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!

- Pray for a heart obedient to divine instructions
- Pray for your feet to be feet of conquest
- Pray for the grace of God for you to develop the habits of conquerors .
