READING OF THE DAY : 2 THESSALONIANS 3: 2/6

I. WHAT IS GOD'S WAY TO DEAL WITH UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP?

The truth is always hard to swallow but it is and will still remain the truth. 

In today's portion of Scripture, Paul is talking about how to deal with relationships with two categories of people: in one hand he talks about men to be delivered from and in another hand he talks about men to keep away from

1st category / RELATIONSHIP WITH UNREASONABLE AND WICKED MEN

When you relate with people who are unreasonable and wicked, Paul teaches that you have to pray God to deliver you from them.

In 2 Thessalonians 3:2, Paul states,

"And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all [men] have not faith."

2nd category / RELATIONSHIP WITH BRETHREN WHO WALK DISORDERLY

When you relate with people in church who walk disorderly and not after the Word Of  the Lord, Paul teaches that you have to withdraw yourself from them.

In 2 Thessalonians 3:6, Paul states again, 

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Even Jesus Christ, during his ministry on the earth, used to cast some people out before he could perform some miracles.

Mark 5:40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

II. WHY DOES PAUL GIVE SUCH INSTRUCTION ?

1st reason :) Because a healthy and godly relationship promote good manners. An unhealthy and ungodly corrupt good manners.

1 Corinthians 15:33, "Evil communications corrupt good manners."

2nd reason :) Because a healthy and godly relationship draw close to God, cause to grow in God and make better. An unhealthy and ungodly relationship withdraw from God and make worse. 

1 Corinthians 11:17, "Now in this that I declare [unto you] I praise [you] not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse."

3rd reason :) Because Jesus himself instructs in Matthew 18:8

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast [them] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

4th reason :) Because keeping an unhealthy relationship undealt is keeping a permanent door opened to the devil to come to steal, to destroy and to kill

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

= PRAYERS = PRAYERS =

PRAYER 1/ Some come to you not to fight your battles but to put you in battles and to fight you. They come not to help you get out of trouble but to put you into trouble. 

Pray from the depth of your heart that the Father will deliver you from such people.

Read and pray with 2 Thessalonians 3:2 "Pray for us [that] we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith."

PRAYER 2/ From Scriptures, iron sharpens iron. In your life you need people who in one hand sharpen your character, your talent, your potential and your personality and in another hand shape your destiny and your future.

Pray the Father to provide to you such people who will be the sharpening iron for you

Read and pray with Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."

PRAYER 3/ There is nothing harmful and unhealthy for the spirit and for the soul than to be in a wrong and unhealthy relationship.

Pray the Father to grant you grace to be bold eough to withdraw yourself from such relationship and such people.

Read and pray with 2 Thessalonians 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

PRAYER 4/ It is possible to be in a marriage with a partner who is unbeliever, wicked and unreasonable. 

For such case, you are not allowed to withdraw yourself according to Scriptures. Pray for the salvation of your partner and pray the Father to endow you with the Spirit of Wisdom so that your life will be the living bible he/she will be reading until he/she gets convicted, convinced and saved.

Read and pray with 2 Corinthians 3:3 [Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

SO SHALL IT BE!
