MIRACLE 12 : JESUS TURNS WATER INTO WINE
TEXT : John 2:1-11
I. INTRODUCTION
According to Scriptures, wine is a symbol of love binding a man (husbad) and a woman (wife) in the relationship of marriage.
We see this picture clearly in Proverbs 5:19 where Solomon says,
"[Let her be as] the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love."
Today's miracle is about the Lord Jesus Christ who supernaturally provides wine in a wedding when wine ran out.
BECAUSE JESUS TURNED WATER INTO WINE IN THIS WEDDIND, BELIEVE THAT IF YOUR MARRIAGE WAS RUNNING OUT OF WINE, A MIRACLE IS TAKING PLACE TODAY FOR A NEW WINE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !
Before we go further, let us see what are the consequences of wine running out in a couple.
II. 3 THINGS HAPPEN WHEN WINE RUNS OUT IN SOMEONE'S LIFE
OR IN A COUPLE
1st
thing : WHEN WINE RUNS OUT IN A COUPLE, SONG OF GLADNESS AND SONG OF JOY DISAPPEAR. QUARREL, FIGHTS, AND INSULTS TAKE PLACE
In Isaiah
16:10, the Bible says,
And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.
2nd
thing : WHEN WINE RUNS OUT IN A COUPLE, QUARRELS, FIGHTS, HURTFUL WORDS AND INSULTS TAKE PLACE
In Jeremiah 48:33, the Bible says,
"And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting."
3rd
THING : WHEN WINE RUNS OUT, THE BOND OF PEACE, OF LOVE AND ONENESS IS BROKEN.
"Men do not put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved." (Matthew 9 : 17)
III. WHAT TO DO WHEN WINE RUNS OUT IN YOUR FAMILY?
1st
thing: CRY OUT TO JESUS CHRIST FOR HELP
When the wine ran out, Mary didn’t know what was coming. All she knew for sure is that Jesus was
there. So she told Jesus, “They have no
wine” (verse 3)
2nd
thing : OBEY HIS INSTRUCTIONS... DO WHATEVER JESUS WILL TELL YOU TO DO EVEN IF
IT WON'T MAKE SENSE
Mary is telling us what she told the waiters at the Cana
wedding – “Do whatever he tells you.”
3rd
thing : ANYTIME YOU FACE CRISIS, UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A CALL FOR A CHANGE. THEREFORE, ALLOW YOURSELF AS AN EMPTY JAR
TO BE FILLED FROM CHRIST WITH THE WATER OF HIS WORD AND CHANGED SUPERNATURALLY
INTO A BRAND NEW WINE.
PRAYER GUIDELINES
PRAYER 1: Do insults and quarrels characterize your couple? If yes, your couple need the new wine miracle.
Read and pray with Isaiah 16:10
PRAYER 2: Is there no joy? Is there bitterness? Is war the order of the day in your couple? You need the new wine miracle.
Read and pray with Jeremiah 48:33
PRAYER 3: Is there no unity? Is your couple tearing apart? You need the new wine miracle.
Read and pray with Matthew 9:17
PRAYER 4: Are there any unaddressed inner wounds in your couple? Do you hurt each other? You need the new wine miracle
Read and pray with Psalm 147: 3
PRAYER 5: What is the change that you want to see the Lord establishes in your family, in your partner and in your couple?
For the establishement of any significant change, you need the new wine miracle.
Read and pray with 2 Corinthians 3:18
