⏩ COVENANT MONTH OF PREVAILING PRAYER ⏪ KEY 2 "PRAY CONTINUALLY"

IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

The word we have just read is the declaration of the unrighteous judge who refused for long time to grant the poor widow her request. Despite his refusal, the poor widow never got discouraged and never stopped. She continued tirelessly to request the unrighteous judge to avenge her. At the end of it, the poor widow prevailed and her continuity was rewarded.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare over someone reading me today that the Lord is granting you the grace of continual prayer until you are avenged.

What is continuity?

Continuity is defined as the unbroken and consistent existence or operation of something over a period of time.

It is also defined as the fact of something continuing for a long period of time without being changed, stopped or interrupted

What does the Bible say about praying continually?

1) Praying continually is not an option or a suggestion. In the Old Testament God commands that we give him no rest until Jerusalem is restored in her original pattern
"For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. (Isaiah 62:1)

2) Jesus in the Gospel taught about continual prayer as the covenant requirement to be avenged speedily by God.
In Luke 18:1, it is written, "And he spake a parable unto them to this end that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;...".
In Luke 18:7, Jesus continues saying, "And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

3) The first church prayed continually and tirelessly to command the supernatural growth of the church.

In Acts 1:14, we see the church praying continually as it is written,
"These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."
In Acts 2:41, we see the result of their continual prayer by the increase of 3000 more converts added to the church as the Bible says,
"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls."
In Acts 6:4 we see again the leaders committing themselves to pray continually. They say,
"But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word."
As the result of their continual prayer, we see the church growing the more as it appears in Acts 6:7,
"And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith."

4) Paul urged Christians to pray continually both individually

In Romans 12:11-12 he says,
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; [12] Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; CONTINUING INSTANT IN PRAYER;

In Ephesians 6:18 he says,
PRAYING ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 he says,
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

What are the benefits of continual prayer?

1) Continual prayer makes you unstoppable, ever advancing, ever growing, ever winning, ever blessed, ever and ever shining
Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
It implies in other words that the more you pray the more you shine. The moment you stop praying you also stop shining.

2) Continual prayer qualifies you to be called Jesus' disciple.

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;

3) Continual prayer troubles the devil, his demons and his agents and forces them to release what they hold illegally.
Luke 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

MY PRAYER TODAY ...

1) Father, I pray that you empower me for continual prayer that will make me unstoppable, ever advancing, ever growing, ever winning, ever blessed, ever and ever shining in the Name of Jesus Christ!

2) Father, I pray that you empower me for continual prayer  so that I will be qualified to be called Jesus' disciple
