⏩ COVENANT MONTH OF ESCAPE ⏪ DAY 12 "ONLY RAHAB ESCAPED . . . WHY ?"

IT IS WRITTEN in Joshua 6:17

"And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the Lord : only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent."

From this text, it is clearly pointed out that by engaging the mystery of hospitality, Rahab the prostitute was spared and exempted with her household from the destruction of the city of Jericho.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE HOSPITABLE?

According to the King James Dictionnary, hospitality is the act or practice of receiving and entertaining strangers or guests without reward, or with kind and generous liberality.

Hospitality does not only make room for others but also room for the supernatural. Anytime you practice genuinely and consistently hospitality, you make also for yourself room for your miracle, for your advancement, for your progress and for your desired miracle.

1st case : The Shunamite made a room for the prophet Elisha in her house, God supernaturally made a room for a baby in her womb

2nd case : Abraham and Sara made a room and hosted the 3 visitors in their house, God supernaturally made a room for Isaac in Sara's womb.

3rd case : While no one was willing to host the ark of the covenant in their house, Obed Edom volunteered to make a room and host it. As soon as he did it, the Bible says that God made a room for greater blessings in his household.

4th case : Rahab made a room and hosted the spies who came to spy the land of Jericho. By doing so, God made a room for her exemption from the destruction of the city of Jericho. Though she was a foreigner, she was entitled to the same spared from the destruction of the city of Jericho

BLESSINGS OF HOSITALITY

The Bible says this in Psalm 41:1-3

1 Blessed is the one who has concern for helpless people. The LORD will rescue him in times of trouble.

2  The LORD will protect him and keep him alive. He will be blessed in the land. Do not place him at the mercy of his enemies.

3  The LORD will support him on his sickbed. You will restore this person to health when he is ill.

From this text, the Lord promises 6 blessings to the man or woman who makes hospitality his/her lifestyle :

BLESSING 1 : The LORD will rescue him in times of trouble.

BLESSING 2 : The LORD will protect him and keep him alive.

BLESSING 3 : He will be blessed in the land.

BLESSING 4 :  The Lord will not place him at the mercy of his enemies.

BLESSING 5 : The LORD will support him on his sickbed

BLESSING 6 : The Lord will restore this person to health when he is ill.
