⏩ COVENANT OF THE OUTSTRETCHED HAND OF GOD ⏪ DAY 12 "GOD'S HAND, THE HAND OF FAVOUR ..."

SCRIPTURE

"... The king granted me, according to the good hand of my God on me." (Nehemiah 2:8) 

KEY STATEMENT 

In today's text we see the favour of God being manifest in the life of Nehemiah because the hand of God was on him. Because of this favour, Nehemiah was granted whatever he needed for the fulfilment of his task.

No one ever finds favour in the sight of God without finding favour in the sight of men. Favour in the sight of God walks hand in hand with favour in the sight of men. One cannot be favoured by God and not be favoured by men. Favour is therefore not only vertical but is also horizontal. That is the reason why the Bible says in Proverbs 3:4

“Thou shalt find favour in the sight of God and man”. 

Among many things favour does in someone’s life, the Bible makes it clear that every man who has favour in the sight of God and in the sight of men never remains at the same level in life. Every time favour shows up in someone’s life, he goes up in life.

Let us confirm it in Scriptures in the life of Joseph.

Every time divine favour showed up in Joseph’s life, it also happened that he went up in command and in authority.

a) When Joseph was in Potiphar’s house, though he was a slave, he found favour in his sight and was promoted to be the overseer over his house. 

Genesis 39:4 And JOSEPH FOUND GRACE in his sight, and he served him: and HE MADE HIM OVERSEER OVER HIS HOUSE, and all [that] he had he put into his hand. 

 b) When Joseph was in prison, he found favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison who advanced him to be in charge of all the prisoners. 

Genesis 39:21 “The LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and GAVE HIM FAVOUR IN THE SIGHT OF THE KEEPER OF THE PRISON. 22 AND THE KEEPER OF THE PRISON COMMITTED TO JOSEPH’S HAND ALL THE PRISONERS that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. 

c) When Joseph moved out of the prison and appeared before Pharaoh, again, he found favour in his sight and was effortlessly and miraculously promoted to be the governor over  Egypt and all his house. 

Acts 7:10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and GAVE HIM FAVOUR AND WISDOM IN THE SIGHT OF PHARAOH KING OF EGYPT; AND HE MADE HIM GOVERNOR over Egypt and all his house.

WHAT WAS THE SECRET BEHIND THIS STRANGE ORDER OF FAVOUR? 

SECRET 1: THE PRAYER ALTAR 

Joseph commanded divine favour in his life by a 24 / 7 fellowship with God

Genesis 39:2 And the LORD was with Joseph … 

Genesis 39:3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him …

Genesis 39:23 … the LORD was with him …

Acts 7:9 … God was with him,

SECRET 2: THE FEAR OF THE LORD 

Joseph was a man of great integrity who would never allow himself to please men and sin against God. He’d rather go to prison than compromise his purity and integrity. When Potiphar’s wife cast her eyes on him and requested him to have sex with him, his NO was firm and strict.

Genesis 39:8 BUT HE REFUSED, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what [is] with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

Genesis 39:9 “… thou [art] his wife: HOW THEN CAN I DO THIS GREAT WICKEDNESS, AND SIN AGAINST GOD?”

Genesis 39:10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that HE HEARKENED NOT UNTO HER, to lie by her, [or] to be with her.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS AND PRAYERS

# THE SAME WAY JOSEPH WAS GOING UP EVERY TIME FAVOUR WAS SHOWING UP IN HIS LIFE, I PRAY THAT THE SAME ORDER OF DIVINE FAVOUR SHOW UP IN YOUR LIFE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!

# THE SAME WAY JOSEPH WAS PERMANENTLY IN FELLOWSHIP WITH THE LORD AT THE PRAYER ALTAR, I PRAY THAT THE SAME HAPPEN TO YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!

# THE SAME WAY JOSEPH WAS GODLY, I PRAY MY FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN TO BAPTIZE YOU WITH THE SAME ORDER OF GODLINESS IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!

# I PRAY MY FATHER TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR LIFE ANYTHING INTERFERING WITH YOUR FELLOWSHIP WITH THE LORD.

# BY THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, I PRAY THE FATHER TO FORGIVE YOU AND CLEANSE YOU FROM ANY TRACE OF UNGODLINESS CAUSING YOU TO STAGNATE IN LIFE 

Declare and pray ------------------------------

# I PRAY MY FATHER TO EMPOWER YOU BY HIS SPIRIT TO WIN THE BATTLE OVER SEXUAL TEMPTATIONS AND SINS SO THAT YOU WILL LIVE PERMANENTLY IN FAVOUR WITH GOD AND WITH MEN
