Among many other things which threatens the kingdom of darkness, there is one thing called continuity.
It is an undeniable fact that the power of life is in continuity. It is critical for breathing to stop. When heart stops beating, it causes fatality. The life of the body is preserved as long as breathing continues and heart continues to beat.
Continuity is by itself a spiritual power the devil has always and will always fear and fight.
In the first chapter of the book of Exodus, we see the Egyptians fearing the continuous growth of the people of Israel. It appears clearly from the mouth of Pharaoh in verses 9 to 10,
"And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land."In order to stop it, they set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. We read it in Exodus 1:11,
"Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses."
When we move to the New Testament, especially in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ, we notice again that Jesus' fame was drawing an endless and continuous flow of multitude of men and women who were coming to him for their salvation, healing, blessing etc.
We can read this fact in many places in the Gospel
Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
Matthew 9:31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Matthew 14:1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
Mark 1:28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Luke 4:37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
Luke 5:15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
The same way it happened with the people of Israel in Egypt, the same way it happened with Jesus Christ. This continuous and endless flow of multitude coming to the Lord turned to be a concern and a threat to the religious leaders who devised mischief to kill him so that they will stop the Work of the Lord. We read their fear in John 11:47-48,
John 11:47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
John 11:48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
According to them, they thought that killing and burrying Jesus was stopping Jesus. It was a mistake because they never knew that death is not final.
They mistook to understand four major facts about death :
1st fact : Death is a power but there is a power greater than the power of death called "the exceeeding greatness of power".
Ephesians 1:19-20 "And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
2nd fact : Death is permitted to challenge Jesus Christ but has no permission to prevail against Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:18 "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
3rd fact : Death is a comma not a full stop.
John 2:19 "Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
4th fact : Burrying a seed is not killing it but giving it an opportunity to grow stronger, bigger and wider.
John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
WHAT TO DO ?
Because continuity threatens the devil, you have one and only one thing to do : CONTINUE . . .
- CONTINUE TO "DO GOOD AND FAINT NOT"
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
- CONTINUE TO "PRAY ALWAYS"
Ephesians 6:18 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints"
Luke 21:36 "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
- 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing."
Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
- CONTINUE TO "SERVE WITHOUT CEASING "
- CONTINUITY TO "FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHERS IN PRAYER "
Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS AND PRAYERS
- MAY THE LORD MY FATHER EMPOWERS YOU WITH THE GRACE OF CONTINUITY IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!
DECLARE AND PRAY __________________
- MAY THE LORD SUSTAIN YOU UNTIL YOU REACH YOUR DUE SEASON!
DECLARE AND PRAY __________________
- ANY DISCOURAGEMENT AND HOPELESSNESS IS DECLARED CONQUERED IN YOUR SPIRIT AND SOUL IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!
DECLARE AND PRAY __________________
- IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, YOU WILL PRAY WITHOUT CEASING, YOU WILL PRAY ALWAYS, YOU WILL PRAY AND FAINT NOT! LET IT BE SO!
DECLARE AND PRAY __________________
