WHAT HAPPENS WHEN POWER IS NOT ACTIVATED ?
4 things happen when God's active active power is not activated by the believer :
One of the reason why churches, believers, businesses do not experience growth it is not necessarily because they are not spiritual but because they lack activated power.
Without power, the church in the upper room was active but dormant, unnoticed, without visible impact, without growth.
But when power came, they turned from dormant to vibrant. In one day, they shifted from 120 to 3120. From 3210 to 8120. From 8120 to multitude of men and women.
Acts 2:41 "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls."
Acts 4:4 "Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
Acts 5:14 "And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women."
2. NO FULFILMENT
We all have wishes and desires in various areas of our lives. As human beings, we long after fulfilling great projects both as individuals and as communities. Sometimes we work hard and sweat to see them fulfilled but we find ourselves frustrated and disappointed. Among many other reasons, the principal is lack of activated power.
We see it with David. The Bible says that he longed after the water flowing from the well of Bethlehem. We read it in 2 Samuel 23:15
"Oh, that someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!"
Yet he wished to drink water but he lacked sufficient power to see his will fulfilled. For that reason, among his mighty men, three of them picked the king's wish and converted it into reality by fearlessly and courageously breaking through the camp of the Philistines.
"The three mighty men broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David; nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD." (2 Samuel 23:16 KJV)
3. NO POSSESSION
In the journey to our promise land, there are rivers to cross, mountains to level, enemies to fight, Red Sea and River Jordan to cross. Without power, there will be stagnation because no one by his own power will ever be able to make it to the end.
In Psalms 44:3, the Bible says,
"For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them."
4. NO DOMINION
It is crystal clear that the economic system, the politic system and the whole world as a system are controlled by the powers of darkness and occult powers. It is indeed scripturally established that the whole world lies under the power and the control of the Devil as we read in 1 John 5:19,
"We know that we are from God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one."
When Satan was tempting the Lord, he made a statement confirming that he was in charge of the world saying in Luke 4:6,
"All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it."
In such a world, without higher power, it is impossible to confront, subdue and deal with those evil powers.
Moses tried to deliver the people from Egypt using his own power. As we all know, he failed, fled and exiled for 40 years until he encountered Divine Power which enabled him to overcome Pharaoh and set the people free from bondage.
That's what we read in Exodus 3:19,
"And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand."and Exodus 6:1,
"Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land."
