40 DAYS AT JESUS' FEET DAY 24 "GOD WILL TURN YOUR MOCKERS INTO YOUR ADMIRERS"

TODAY IS DAY 24 JESUS RAISES JAIRUS' DAUGHTER

READINGS Matthew 9:18-26; Mark 5:21-46; Luke 8:40-56

Today's miracle is about a man named Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue, who came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come home with him because his only daughter, who was twelve years old, was dying.

As Jesus went with him, he was surrounded by the crowds. But while he was still speaking to the woman healed from the blood issue, a messenger arrived from the home of Jairus. He told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.”

But when Jesus heard what had happened, he ignored the report and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.

When they arrived at the house, Jesus wouldn’t let anyone go in with him except Peter, John, James, and the little girl’s father and mother. The house was filled with people weeping and wailing, but he said, “Stop the weeping! She isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.”

But the crowd laughed at him because they all knew she had died. Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice, “My child, get up!” And at that moment her life returned, and she immediately stood up in the sight of all the mockers.

Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. Her parents were overwhelmed, but Jesus insisted that they not tell anyone what had happened.

POINT 1 THE MAN WAS A RULER BUT HE CAME TO CHRIST NOT AS A RULER BUT AS A HUMBLE WORSHIPPER

"While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, ..." (Matthew 9:18)

"And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet," (Mark 5:22)

"And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, ..." (Luke 8:41)

Questions/ How do you come before the Lord? As a self-sufficent man/woman? With pride or with humility? Are you a humble man/woman?

PRAY THE FATHER TO ENDUE YOU WITH THE SPIRIT OF HUMILITY

It is written in Proverbs 29:23 “A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
My God and my Father, I pray that you endue me today with a humble spirit. By the power of your Spirit, search my heart and let all kind of pride be rooted up from it in Jesus name.
PRAY THE FATHER TO MAKE YOU A TRUE WORSHIPPER

It is written in John 4:23-24 "The hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth."
Father, I refuse to be a fake worshipper. I therefore pray that you grant me a genuine, sincere and truthful heart by the power of your Spirit so that I can be a true worshipper who worships you in spirit and in truth.
POINT 2 HE CAME TO CHRIST IN EMERGENCY MODE BUT JESUS PUT HIM IN WAITING MODE

An emergency is an unexpected and difficult or dangerous situation which happens suddenly and which requires quick action to deal with it.

Normally this case needed an urgent intervention and attention from Jesus Christ for two reasons : a) The daughter was the only one of this man (Luke 8:42a) b) She was at the point of death (Luke 8:42b)

Instead of dismissing the crowd so that he can rush and solve the issue, Jesus walks surrounded with people who throng him everywhere. Not only that, the woman with blood issue shows up to stop Jesus' move. After getting healed, instead of rushing, Jesus takes again time to talk to her until a news came from home that “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.”

Throughout the text, though this man was a ruler, we don't see or hear him grumbling, murmuring, complaining or pressurizing Jesus in any way. We see a man composed, calm and submissive to Jesus' speed and timing.

Question 1 / What is your attitude when you pray God and you see him answering others while your case is still pending and even getting worse?
๐Ÿ”ƒThe attitude of your heart when you see God blessing others or when you hear others sharing their testimony is an indicator in the sight of God whether you will get yours or not.
Question 2 / What is your attitude when you bring to Jesus an emergency case but you are put in waiting mode? Do you complain? Do you grumble? Do you give him ultimatum to pressurize him? Do you surrender to Jesus' speed, timing and method? Do you praise God? Do you worship God?
๐Ÿ”ƒ What matters to God is not how long you wait but how you wait.

PRAY THE FATHER TO GIVE YOU A RIGHT HEART AND RIGHT ATTITUDE WHEN OTHERS GET THEIR ANSWERS WHILE YOUR CASE IS STILL PENDING

It is written in Romans 12:15 "Rejoice with them that do rejoice ... "
Father,  I pray that you give me a right heart and a right attitude when others are getting answers to their prayers while my case is still pending,. Help me to never grumble but to rejoice with them and to tap by faith into their testimony knowing and believing that mine will surely come.

PRAY THE FATHER TO  GIVE YOU THE GRACE TO WAIT ON HIM WITH RIGHT ATTITUDE

It is written in Psalms 37:7 "Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself ..."

Father, I refuse to be restless and agitated when I wait for your intervention to my prayer. By your grace, I pray that you grant me to have a restful, praiseful, thankful, quiet, calm and composed heart in the Name of Jesus Christ !

POINT 3  LEARN TO QUICKLY SILENCE ANY DISCOURAGING AND NEGATIVE REPORT AND TO QUICKLY REPLACE THEM WITH ENCOURAGING AND POSITIVE WORDS OF FAITH

In this text, Jesus silences negative report thrice :

  1. When from the house someone reports that the daughter is dead, Jesus immediatly silences and ignores the report and replace it with words of faith
Mark 5:36 But Jesus, giving no attention to their words, said to the ruler of the Synagogue, Have no fear, only have faith.

  2. When he reaches the house and sees people crying, Jesus silences the mourners with words of faith

Mark 5:39 And when he had gone in, he said to them, Why are you making such a noise and weeping? The child is not dead, but sleeping.

   3. When the mourners start laughing at him and mocking him because of his faith, Jesus put them all out and keep only men and women of faith around him in the room (Mark 5:40)
๐Ÿ”ƒ There is a time when you silence negative voices by faith. There is also a time when by faith you disconnect from those who carry them.

Question / Is there any report that brings discouragement in your heart ?

PRAY TO SILENCE CONTRARY VOICES AND NEGATIVE REPORTS

It is written in Psalms 29:3 "The voice of the LORD [is] upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD [is] upon many waters."
In the Name of Jesus Christ I command any voice of deception, any voice of accusation, any voice of intimidation, any voice of the multitude, any voice of discouragement, any voice of hopelessness to be silenced right now in the name OF JESUS CHRIST!!!
LORD JESUS CHRIST, TAKE CONTROL !!! HEAVENLY FATHER, TAKE CONTROL !!! HOLY SPIRIT, TAKE CONTROL !!!
POINT 5 THERE IS POWER IN THE VOICE OF GOD NOT ONLY TO BRING BACK TO LIFE WHAT IS DEAD BUT ALSO TO TURN YOUR MOCKERS INTO YOUR ADMIRERS

Those who mocked Christ some minutes ago are now astonished with great astonishment when they saw the manifestation of the power of God bringing back the laid to life.

It is written in Mark 5:41-42 "And taking her by the hand, Jesus said to her, Talitha cumi, which is, My child, I say to you, Get up. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
๐Ÿ”ƒ There is a time when you silence negative voices by faith. There is also a time when by faith you disconnect from those who carry them.

PRAY SPECIFICALLY GOD TO MANIFEST HIS POWER OVER THE SPECIFIC AREA WHERE YOUR MOCKERS MOCK YOU AND LAUGH AT YOU

PRAYER 1

It is written in 2 Kings 19:16 "Let your ear be turned to us, O Lord, and let your eyes be open, O Lord, and see; take note of all the words of Sennacherib who has sent men to say evil against the living God."
MY GOD MY FATHER, YOU WHO MADE EARS YOU CAN HEAR THE INSULTS AND MOCKERIES OF THE MOCKERS. YOU WHO MADE EYES YOU CAN SEE ALL THE ABUSES AND MISTREATMENTS OF THE MOCKERS AGAINST ME.
I THEREFORE CALL UPON YOU TODAY. SHOW YOURSELF, ARISE, DO SOMETHING AND MANIFEST YOUR POWER IN THAT PARTICULAR AREA (mention the specific area) SO THAT THE MOCKERS WILL BE SILENCED AND YOUR NAME WILL BE GLORIFIED !!!
PRAYER 2

It is written in Genesis 26:28 And they said, "We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee; and we said, ‘Let there be now an oath between us, even between us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee,

FATHER, LET YOUR PRESENCE, YOUR GRACE, YOUR BLESSING AND YOUR FAVOR UPON MY LIFE, MY FAMILY, MY MINISTRY, MY BUSINESS BE CLEARLY MANIFEST, VISIBLE AND EVIDENT IN THE SIGHT OF ALL THE MOCKERS SO THAT THEY WILL COME TO YOU AND GIVE GLORY TO YOUR NAME !

IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !

JESUS IS LORD !
