SETTLE YOUR HEART FIRST

Luke 21:12 "But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute [you], delivering [you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake."

Luke 21:13 "And it shall turn to you for a testimony."

Luke 21 : 14  "Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer

Luke 21 : 15  For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist."

• Settle it in your heart that your own-personal and carnal defense system is useless in that battle. Drop it off !

Drop off of your head what you shall answer = how you will defend yourself, how you will justify yourself, how you will counter attack, how you will react, ...

• Settle it in your heart that we live in an unsettled world dominated by an unsettled devil but you belong to an ever settled kingdom.  

Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

• Settle it in your heart that  the outside battle is never won if the inside battle is not first won. So in the midst of an unsettled environment you are responsible to settle your heart first .

Luke 21 : 14  Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

• Settle it in you heart that the fight is not about you. It is all about the name you carry. Don't make it a personal battle, Pass it on.

verse 12 ... for my name’s sake ...

2 Chronicles 20:17 Ye shall not need to fight in this [battle]: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed: to-morrow go out against them: for Jehovah is with you.

• When you settle your heart, then the Lord will equip you with his weapons : a mouth and a wisdom 

Luke 21 : 15  For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

• Settle it in your heart that every fight carries its own testimony. No fight ever comes without a testimony tag behind it. You never come out of a battle the way you came in. You always come out with a testimony. HOLD ON !

Luke 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

CONCLUSION

When scared...settle it in your heart that God will help you overcome the fear;

When attacked...settle it in your heart that God will give you the defense necessary;

When threatened...settle it in your heart that God's power will uphold you;

When worried...settle it in your heart that God is able to subdue your worry;

When the world is falling apart...settle it in your heart that God is in control;

When Satan works to destroy your life ...settle it in your heart that the gates of hell shall not prevail;

When doubting whether your destroyed relationship can be renewed...settle it in your heart that God promises to build it again . . .
