“I Have No Man” — The Cry for Divine Help

“I Have No Man” — The Cry for Divine Help

Text Focus:

John 5:6 KJV: "When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?"

John 5:7 KJV: "The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me."

SECTION 1: THE INVISIBLE CHAINS OF ISOLATION

Teaching Insight:

The words of the impotent man, “I have no man”, reflect more than the absence of physical support. They unearth the spiritual reality of loneliness, abandonment, and rejection — wounds that bind deeper than chains.

One Word That Encompasses Loneliness, Abandonment, and Rejection is the word ISOLATION.

Key Verse:

"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up." – Psalm 27:10 KJV

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. - Isaiah 49:15 KJV

The difference between loneliness, abandonment and rejection

1. Loneliness = Emotional Isolation (The feeling of isolation)

Loneliness is an emotional state characterized by a perceived lack of connection or companionship, even when surrounded by people. It is not necessarily about being physically alone, but about feeling disconnected from others.

You may be surrounded by people, but still feel disconnected.

It’s the internal lack of meaningful connection .

Spiritually, it’s the sense of being cut off from others or from purpose.

Even Jesus experienced loneliness in the Garden of Gethsemane when His closest disciples fell asleep while He prayed.

“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.” (Matthew 26:36–37)

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)

APPLICATION

Loneliness often comes from feeling stuck in suffering with no one who truly understands or helps.

Jesus’ question, “Do you want to be healed?” (John 5:6) cuts through his despair—showing God sees him even in his isolation

2. Abandonment = Relational Isolation (The experience of being left)

Abandonment is the experience of being left behind, forsaken, or discarded by someone who was supposed to care for or stay with you. It often involves a sense of betrayal or broken trust.

Someone you trusted or depended on left you or withdrew love/support .

It creates a deep wound of broken trust and loss of security .

Spiritually, it can feel like God has turned away.

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” (Psalm 27:10)

APPLICATION

Abandonment wounds come from relying on people (or systems) that fail us. Jesus bypasses the pool (a symbol of unreliable hope) and heals him directly, showing God steps in where humans fall short.

The man says, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up” (John 5:7).

He had no family or friends to assist him (unlike the paralytic lowered through the roof in Mark 2, who had helpers).

His words suggest years of being overlooked, possibly even by his community.

He was dependent on others, yet left behind every time the waters moved.

3. Rejection = Identity Isolation (The feeling of being unwanted)

Rejection is the experience of being refused, excluded, or deemed unworthy by others. It often affects our sense of belonging and self-worth.

You feel unwanted , unloved , or unworthy .

It attacks your self-worth and belonging .

Spiritually, it can lead to believing lies about your value in God’s eyes.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

“He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)

APPLICATION

John 5:5 KJV

And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

John 5:7 KJV

The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

John 5:9 KJV

And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

SECTION 2 - The Spiritual Battle Behind Isolation

Isolation is one of the enemy’s most powerful tools .

1 Peter 5:8-9 KJV “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

The devil uses isolation for 3 major purposes:

Purpose 1 | To make you vulnerable to lies

Isolation and emotional pain cloud judgment, making you more susceptible to:

Deceptive thoughts ("No one cares about you.")

False comforts (toxic relationships, addictions, or harmful coping mechanisms).

Spiritual Truth: "The devil is a liar … " (John 8:44).

Purpose 2 | To Paralyze You In Helplessness

Prolonged suffering can make you believe:

"Nothing will ever change."

"I’m powerless to break free."

The enemy wants you stuck—just like the paralytic at Bethesda, waiting endlessly for someone else to save you.

Spiritual Truth: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1).

Purpose 3 | To Drag You Into Depression And Despair

Unresolved grief over abandonment or rejection can lead to:

Hopelessness ("My future is ruined.")

Self-blame ("I deserve this.")

The goal? To crush your spirit so you stop seeking God’s deliverance.

Spiritual Truth: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18).

CONCLUSION

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) and to bind the strong man (Satan) so he can no longer rob people of their destiny (Matthew 12:29).

Jesus said:

“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

And:

“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

Prophetic Declaration:

“I break every spirit of isolation in my life in the Name of Jesus! I am not alone. I am not abandoned. I am not rejected. I am accepted, loved, and connected to the Body of Christ and to my divine purpose!”

Prayer to Overcome Isolation:

“Father, I thank You that I am not isolated. I thank You that I am connected to You and to Your people. I receive divine connection, divine assignment, and divine love. Heal my heart from every wound of loneliness, abandonment, and rejection. I walk in divine fellowship and divine purpose. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION 3: THE DANGERS OF HELPLESSNESS

Teaching Insight:

Jesus asked, “Wilt thou be made whole?” not because He didn’t know the answer, but to awaken a desire and confront the despair that had bound the man for 38 years.

Why Is Helplessness Dangerous?

1. Helplessness breeds hopelessness.

2. It opens the door to shame and confusion.

3. It frustrates purpose and delays destiny.

Danger 1: Helplessness Leads to Shame and Confusion

Isaiah 50:7 “For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded…”

Psalm 34:5 “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”

Application: When divine help is absent, even bold people become confused. You must reject shame and boldly ask for divine intervention.

Danger 2: Helplessness Kills Hope and Joy

Psalm 146:5 “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help…”

Hopelessness brings sorrow, depression, and self-pity — the exact state the man at Bethesda was in.

Application: Cry out to God before despair overtakes your destiny.

Danger 3: Helplessness Frustrates Destiny

Genesis 2:18 “It is not good for man to be alone…”

Acts 26:22 “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day…”

Without help, even the most anointed struggle in stagnation.

Application: Ask God for destiny helpers and supernatural assistance.

Danger 4: Helplessness Turns Life Bitter

2 Kings 14:26 “The LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter… nor any helper for Israel.”

When help is absent, bitterness takes over. Marriages break. Ministries collapse. Dreams die.

Prophetic Proclamation:

I prophesy over your life: You shall not be stranded! May divine help locate you and turn your sorrow into sweetness in Jesus’ name!

Prayer Point:

Lord, don’t let me carry shame or be stranded. Be my Helper and turn every bitterness into joy, in Jesus’ Name.

SECTION 4- The Evil Manipulation Behind Isolation

Recognize that isolation is a demonic attack, not just an emotional state.

4 Invisible Weapons the Enemy Uses:

Evil Veils – Hide your real identity and glory from your helpers

-- The enemy can put on you an evil mask on your face to make people run away from you.

No one is available to assist you at the moment of your breakthrough.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with uncovered face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Prophetic Proclamation:

Every mask, veil, or smell the enemy has placed upon you to hinder your destiny — be removed now! You shall no longer be invisible to your helpers.

Prayer Point:

Father, uncover me. Remove every spiritual hindrance placed upon my life. Let my glory be seen, in Jesus’ Name.

Isaiah 25:7 KJV

And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

Evil Smell – Repels helpers (John 11:39)

-- The enemy can make you smell bad and unknowingly cause people just to depart from you

-- Lazarus was about to be delivered from the grave, all of a sudden, the sister Jesus appeared to hinder and said ...

John 11:39 Jesus said, Remove the stone. Martha, the sister of the deceased, answered, Sir, by this time, the smell is offensive, for this is the fourth day.

Genesis 27:27 KJV

And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:

2 Corinthians 2:15 KJV

For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

Evil Image - Misrepresent you – Identifies you with evil

-- The enemy uses gossips, critics, insults, your weaknesses, a negative story of your past to misrepresent you and keep you helpless.

-- People reject you without cause; favor dries up for no reason.

2 Samuel 9:3 KJV And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.

Demonic Delay – Constantly stepping ahead of you

Sometimes God sends to you his help and it gets diverted or delayed…

Jonah 1:4 KJV

But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

Daniel 10:12-13 KJV

Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. [13] But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Matthew 2:9-10 KJV

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. [10] When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

JONAH CASE

You know? There are some Jonah that God is sending to you but they are not willing. They prefer rather to go elsewhere. That is diversion I'm talking about.

Instead of going to Nineveh, Jonah chose to go elsewhere.

There are people that God has ordained to be for you. There are people God has ordained to be with you. There are people God has called to be a source of blessing for your life. To be your helper from above. But in one way or in another, those people are not willing.

But I have a good news for you. When Jonah went to Jopa, I like what God did. He blew the wind to force Jonah to come out from where God did not want him.

I am delighted to let you know this morning that God will send the wind to blow and bring any Jonah who is running away from you to exactly where you are.

I see God sending the wind. I see the wind blowing. Hallelujah.

I see the wind blowing and bringing back Jonah to you. Jonah is running away,. going where he should not go. But I see God sending the wind. bringing back to you any Jonah who is running away.

I want to announce to you, you are reaching a place where people will bless you against their will.

In Jonah 3:3, Jonah arose and went to Nineveh not because he wanted but because God forced him to go there. I see God forcing people to bless you. I see God forcing people to come to you by force by fire whether they like it or not.

Jonah 3:3 KJV

So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.

In Psalm 133, the Bible talks about commanded blessing. What is it? It is that kind of blessing whereby God commands people to feed you, to come to you, to bless you ... even to marry you ..

Psalm 133:3 KJV

As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

For example, God told Elijah, "Go to that widow. I commanded her to feed you."

Prophetic Proclamation “Any Jonah running away from you will be redirected supernaturally to you in Jesus name.

Prophetic Proclamation “There is a supernatural redirection happening right now as I'm standing from this pulpit. I see a divine redirection.

Prophetic Proclamation “People will just come to bless you not because they want to, they will come to bless you because they are forced to.

My own Bishop, peace to his soul. One day he told me

“You know what I'm doing for you,I do it because of the God who takes away the sleep of the of Kings”.

I never asked him what he meant but he was handing money to me. He was handing me the ticket to come to Kenya and he told me I am doing it to you because there is God in heaven who takes away the sleep of Kings.

I know there are things people will never do willingly. I know there are things people do because they are forced by God.

I am a beneficiary of such kind of blessing. You are getting your own today in Jesus Name. It is being released to you by force by fire by the Lord himself.

I see plots released by God himself. I see God appearing to people in dreams to direct to you what belonged to you.

JESUS CASE

Can you imagine, they had a box. In that box there was gold, frankincense and myrrh. They were going to offer them to Jesus.

Imagine they reached Jerusalem and as they reached there, they were inquiring, "Where is the King of the Jews? We have seen his star in the East and we have come to worship him. Where is the King of the Jews?"

They met King Herod who inquired from them. He told them, the man you are looking for is not in Jerusalem.

In the book of Micah, the Bible says, Bethlehem, Bethlehem your are not the least of the cities of Israel because from you, a king will be born.

And when they heard of Micah, the wise men departed from Jerusalem. And as soon as they departed, lo, they saw the star.

I like what the Bible says, the star led them exactly where Jesus was.

I have a picture of somebody listening to me today.

Prophetic Proclamation “There is a box for you. A box of gold, a box of incense, a box of all kind of precious things that are supposed to come to you but went else where.

Prophetic Proclamation “I see the Lord God All mighty redirecting those people to you. I see the God of the Word of Life doing for you what he did to the wise men. That box was for Jesus, it could not be taken by Herod.

Prophetic Proclamation “Any blessing that is for you, that went to look for you where you are not supposed to be, will be redirected exactly where you are, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

I always think of something interesting. At that time, there was no Internet, no phone calls. I wish there were phones, they could have called. God himself directed them to go to the right person.

Prophetic Proclamation “There are people coming to you, with your promotion, with your elevation, with your doors opened, with your gold, with your finances,…

God is God. Herod could have told them, "Well you are not going anywhere. Stay here. Open the box. Everything that is there give it to me."

But Herod was blinded. He sent them away. He said, "Well you go, when you get some information come and let me know."

But God preserved the box because he knew it is for Jesus.

Prophetic Proclamation “I am here to announce to you, what belongs to you is for you. If the box is for you, even if it goes to Jerusalem it will come back to you in Bethlehem where you are.

That is why you should never fight for something that is not for you. If it is for you, it will still reach you where you are. If God has ordained it to be for you, nomatter the matter of the matter, it will still come to you. Praise be the Living God.

I say, if what is in the box is for you, no matter where they go, they will be redirected to you.

If that man is for you, he will still come back to you. If that woman is for you, she will still come back to you. If that job is for you, it will still come back to you. Even if it is diverted by the enemy to go elsewhere it will be redirected to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Say a good Amen to that.

Prophetic Proclamation “I see a box coming to you. I see a box reaching you in your email. I see a box coming to you in your bank account. I see a box coming to you in your pocket. I see a box coming to you in your M-pesa. I see what God has ordained for you redirected exactly where you are. Hallelujah.

It is done. If you really believe according to your faith. I say it is done in Jesus Name.

What is for me, is for me. That one I know. That's why I never fight.

Those who are meant to be in the Word of Life, they will be in the Word of Life. No need to chase people. What is for me, is for me.

Everything that has my name on it, will reach me where I am.

Prophetic Proclamation “I pray today that your address will be clear in heaven. That's why it is important for you to get your Bethlehem. When you are in Bethlehem, when you are at the place where God wants you to be, whatever is for you, will reach you where you are in the Name of Jesus Christ.

SECTION 5: WHAT TO DO TO ACCESS DIVINE INTERVENTION?

John 5:6 KJV

When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

Jesus saw him …

Jesus knew he was there for long …

Jesus knew he was helpless …

Jesus asks him a question …

WHY? TO ACTIVATE HIS MIRACLE WITH HIS MOUTH …

John 5:7 KJV

The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

JESUS IS THAT MAN YOU NEED …JESUS IS THAT MAN WHO WILL MAKE YOU THE MAN YOU WERE CALLED TO BE …

John 5:11-12 KJV

He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. [12] Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

 John 5:8-9 KJV

Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. [9] And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

You have inside you what it takes to become the man/woman you are called to be.

Your mouth has been given to you as a weapon of warfare. Use it.

Luke 21:15 KJV

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Isaiah 54:17 KJV

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Pray that your God ordained helpers won’t find rest until they locate you

2 Corinthians 2:13 KJV

I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

Pray that any demonic veil placed on you to misrepresent you and hinder you from being located be torn in pieces

Isaiah 25:7 KJV

And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

Pray for the redirection of anything the enemy has been diverting from you

Isaiah 43:6 KJV

I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

Pray against demonic blockages and hindrances

Daniel 10:13 KJV

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Pray for open mind because your help will not come to you the way you think it should

Luke 24:45 KJV

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
