DAY 1 | I AM THE FIRSTBORN — THE BLESSING OF GOD IS MINE BY COVENANT!"

AUGUST – MY MONTH TO POSSESS MY FIRSTBORN RIGHTS

DAY 1 | I AM THE FIRSTBORN — THE BLESSING OF GOD IS MINE BY COVENANT!"

Today, as we start, the decree is: *I am the firstborn.*

I wish somebody could just drop a comment there and say, “I am the first Paul.”

Somebody may say, *“Oh well, Pastor, I’m not a firstborn. I am maybe the last born, like Hilda.”*

But in the Kingdom of God, to be called a firstborn is not just a title—it is a divine appointment with power, privilege, and purpose.

So it doesn’t matter where you are in your family—whether the second born, the third born, or whatever—in the Kingdom of God, if you are saved, if you have given your life to Christ as your Lord and Savior, *you are the firstborn.*

Now let me help you. Israel—the people of God—was identified as the firstborn of God.

*PART 1 – ISRAEL AS A PEOPLE WAS IDENTIFIED AS GOD’S FIRSTBORN*

*Exodus 4:22 (NLT):*

“And you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord: Israel is My firstborn son.’”

Can you put it on ERV?

Exodus 4:22v(ERV)

Then you should say to Pharaoh, 'This is what the LORD says: Israel is my firstborn son.

This is what the Lord says:

*“Israel is My firstborn.”* Whoever you are—God said to Pharaoh—verse 23: *“Let My firstborn go, that he may worship Me. Let My son go, that he may worship Me.”*

Exodus 4:23 KJV

And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

Wherever you are, if you are born again, if you are saved, if you are in Christ—write it down: *It is illegal for the devil to tie you down.*

It is illegal for the powers of darkness to bind your life.

Remember, Jesus says in *Luke 13:16*, concerning the woman He healed:

Luke 13:16  (KJV)

And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Jesus is saying: *You are a daughter of Abraham. You are the firstborn.* And over the firstborn, no devil in hell, no sickness or disease, no power of darkness, no witchcraft power whatsoever, can tie you down.

Now, as we are fasting today, *any power of darkness that has ever tied you down is broken—in Jesus’ name!* Because God says: *“This is My firstborn.”*

I command every Pharaoh in your family who is tying you down: *You are the firstborn!*

Say with me, wherever you are: *I am the firstborn.* Can you say it as you mean it?  *I am the firstborn.*

And write it down:

- The devil cannot.

- The devil will not tie me down in alcoholism.

- The devil will not tie me down in stress.

- The devil will not tie me down in poverty.

- The devil will not tie me down.

*I am the firstborn.*

And I encourage you: don’t only pray *for* the firstborn—pray *as* the firstborn.

Any firstborn tied down by the devil—they are free today, in Jesus’ name.

*“Let My son go, My firstborn, Israel.”*

Praise the Lord! I feel somebody should confess: *I am the firstborn.*

Now, this month of August is the *Month of the Firstborn.*

And you understand what I’m talking about.

*PART 2 – JESUS IS IDENTIFIED IN SCRIPTURE AS THE FIRSTBORN*

Colossians 1:15 KJV

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

This does *not* mean that Jesus was created. It means simply that Jesus existed before He came into the world. Jesus has never been created.

*“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”* (John 1:1)

John 1:1 KJV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Colossians 1:18 KJV

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Yes, there were people who died and came back to life before Christ—but being the *firstborn from the dead* means that the death and resurrection of Jesus inaugurated a new generation of people raised from the dead—*the way He was raised.*

The power God used to resurrect Jesus from the dead is the greatest power God has ever used.

Romans 8:29 KJV

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

So Jesus is the *firstborn among many brethren*—which simply means: *Jesus is the firstborn among the firstborn.*

And it is amazing—because all those who are in Christ…

*PART 3 – ALL THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST ARE BY REDEMPTION FIRSTBORNS*

…by redemption, we are firstborns.

Hebrews 12:23 KJV

Ye are come to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Because Jesus is the firstborn among many brethren, *we too are firstborns.*

Get this: *Romans 8:29*—firstborn among many brethren—means firstborn among firstborns. In Christ, we are firstborn.

*Hebrews 12:23* again:

“You have come to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect.”

All those who are in Christ—we are firstborn.  The Church of Jesus is the *Church of the Firstborn.*

We are firstborn. Those whose names are written in heaven.

Written in heaven means

Registered as citizens in heaven

Enrolled in heaven

Whose names are written in heaven

Legally registered as citizens of heaven

Hebrews 12:23 Voice

to the assembly of the firstborn registered as heaven's citizens, to God the righteous Judge of all, and to the spirits of all the righteous who have been perfected.

Hebrews 12:23 TPT

And as members of the church of the Firstborn all our names have been legally registered as citizens of heaven! And we have come before God who judges all, and who lives among the spirits of the righteous who have been made perfect in his eyes!

What does it mean?

It simply means:

- You are not an afterthought.

- You are positioned by God as a carrier of covenant blessing, spiritual authority, and eternal inheritance.

Just as in the Old Testament, the firstborn:

- Received a double portion.

- Received leadership.

- Received the mantle of the father.

So in the New Covenant, every believer in Christ shares in the fullness of the firstborn—Jesus—and inherits the rights that come through Him.

I hope you understand what I mean.

*PART 4 – THE TWIST…*

Here is the twist.

Many, many, many believers operate under the *spirit of Esau.*

It is very sad. It is a sad observation.

And what happened?

- They miss out on the full inheritance of the firstborn.

- They forfeit the complete blessings.

- They trade away the privileges.

- They fail to walk in the fullness of their firstborn benefits.

Many believers think like Esau.

- They give up all the blessings that come from being the firstborn.

- They exchange their special rights for something worthless.

I want you to consider something.

- God is called after the name of the firstborn.

We could have been calling God: *“The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Esau.”*   Unfortunately, that’s not how it is.

Why?

Because Esau traded his birthright for something perishable—because of food, because of money, because of sex, because of a man, because of alcohol, because of a job, because of something temporary.

Many miss the opportunity to have their name linked to the name of God.

I declare: *God will do something for your life in this month of August*, and people will start calling God after your name.

They will say: *“The God of so-and-so—what You did for this one!”*

Now, now you need to understand your identity as the firstborn.

Hebrews 11:16 KJV

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

I prophesy over someone who cares to listen today:

May God not be ashamed of you.  May you not be the one bringing shame to the name of God.  May you not be the one who brings shame to the name of God by the way you live.*

Can people say: *“God of so-and-so, do for me what You are doing for him or her?”*

TRUTH 1 | Being the firstborn comes with distinct rights and responsibilities called birthrights.

I want you to understand: being the firstborn comes with distinct rights and responsibilities—called the *birthright.*

Genesis 25:31 NLT

"All right," Jacob replied, "but trade me your rights as the firstborn son."

NOTE | YOUR FIRSTBORN BIRTHRIGHT IS NOT FOR TRADE … YOUR FIRSTBORN BIRTHRIGHT IS NON-NEGOTIABLE

May you never sell your birthright. *Never.*

Genesis 25:33 NLT

But Jacob said, "First you must swear that your birthright is mine." So Esau swore an oath, thereby selling all his rights as the firstborn to his brother, Jacob.

You see, the firstborn comes with a right.

He sold it. Why? *He wanted food.* Please.

That’s why this month of August is dedicated for you to *recover the birthright you lost—in Jesus’ name.*

Genesis 25:34 NLT

Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew. Esau ate the meal, then got up and left. He showed contempt for his rights as the firstborn.

The picture I want you to have is this: *the right attached to you being the firstborn.*

TRUTH 2 | Covenant blessings are divinely sealed for the firstborn as a unique inheritance from the father.

Genesis 27:2 TLB

Isaac: "I am an old man now, and expect every day to be my last. Take your bow and arrows out into the fields and get me some venison, and prepare it just the way I like it-savory and good-and bring it here for me to eat, and I will give you (I will pronounce on you) the blessings that belong to you, my firstborn son, before I die."

*Genesis 27:2 (NLT):*

“I am an old man now, and I don’t know when I might die. Take your bow and arrows, go out into the field, and hunt some wild game for me. Prepare my favorite dish, and bring it to me to eat. Then I will pronounce my blessing on you before I die.”

Oh! There are *covenant blessings locked for the firstborn alone*—as an inheritance from the father.

Those blessings are released through *pronouncement—blessings coming from the father.*

*I know the blessings belong to you, my firstborn—but I will pronounce them on you.*

*Genesis 27:4 NLT

Prepare my favorite dish, and bring it here for me to eat. Then I will pronounce the blessing that belongs to you, my firstborn son, before I die."

What does that mean?

Certain blessings are uniquely set apart for the firstborn.

Exclusive blessings are divinely reserved for the firstborn.

Heaven has appointed special blessings that belong only to the firstborn.

The firstborn carries blessings that no one else can claim.

I know that God has made me a spiritual father to those who believe—to those who choose to believe.

Esau lost the birthright because of food.

Now the father wants to release the blessing of the firstborn to Esau *through food.*

*Fast, my friend. Fast. You will have time to eat.*

This month of August 2025, I will make proclamation on you—as a spiritual father—to release your right as the firstborn.

*PART 5 – WHAT ARE THE RIGHTS ATTACHED TO THE FIRSTBORN?*

Today, I want to talk to you about *breakthrough.*

Write it down: *Breakthrough is the God-ordained portion of the firstborn.*

Say with me this morning:

“Breakthrough is my God-ordained portion as the firstborn—because I am the firstborn. Because God Himself calls you, calls me, the firstborn.”

What are the rights attached to my position as the firstborn?

*Breakthrough is my portion.*

Because I am a firstborn, I am entitled to breakthrough.

This month of August, you will *break.*

- Expect financial breakthrough this month.

- Expect spiritual breakthrough this month—and beyond.

- Expect financial, emotional, physical, material breakthrough.

As I’m stepping into this month of August, what I am proclaiming over you is: *Breakthrough—in the name of Jesus Christ.*

It is your portion. It is your birthright. It is for me. It is for you.

The Church is the *Church of the Firstborn.*

That means the Church is the Church of people of breakthroughs.

If you understand it:

- Nothing will block your life.

- Nobody will hinder you anymore.

- You will face obstacles, and you will laugh, and say:

“I am the firstborn. I am qualified by grace. I am entitled by grace to break through. No matter the mountain, no matter the obstacles—I will break through!” Hallelujah! I am a firstborn.

I pray that somebody will understand what I mean.

Exodus 13:2 KJV

Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

You belong to God.

I say: *You will break through.*

You did not hear me well.

This month of August 2025, *the Word of Life will break through.*

We have never had this kind of three-day fast starting from Monday.

It is already a sign that *a breakthrough is coming—for somebody—this month of August and beyond.*

I give you two cases, and I’m done.

*Case Number One: The Case of Perez*

Genesis 38:29 AMP

But he pulled back his hand, and his brother was born first. And she said, “What a breach you have made for yourself [to be the firstborn]!” So he was named Perez (breach, break forth).

What does that mean?

The firstborn carries a divine mandate for breakthrough.

The firstborn is prophetically appointed to walk in breakthrough.

Heaven has destined the firstborn for undeniable breakthrough.

The firstborn is set apart by God for realms of breakthrough.

*Perez means “break forth.”*

- You will break forth.

- He was behind—Zerah was in front.

But there is a *divine mandate for breakthrough.

Say with me:

“I carry a divine mandate for breakthrough.”

Breakthrough is not just an ambition. It is your divine mandate.  You will break through—in the name of Jesus Christ.

Now, I apply for the work permit?   Oh no—no merit.   No merit.  I know I am the firstborn. In the physical, I am the firstborn from the womb of my mother.

But let’s put it in the spirit:   *No devil can stop me.*

No devil—no matter who they are—can block my destiny.   Your destiny will never be blocked anymore.

The firstborn is *prophetically appointed to walk in breakthrough.*

Say with me: *“I am appointed to walk in breakthrough.”*

*Hallelujah!*

Heaven has destined the firstborn for *undeniable breakthrough.*

You will have undeniable breakthrough this month.

The firstborn is set apart by God for the realm of greatness.

I want to announce—I want to prophesy over a firstborn under the sound of my voice:

*The God of Perez—the God of uncommon breakthrough—will grant you a major breakthrough this month,*

to the point that people around you will be shocked, and they will wonder: *“How did it happen?”*

I declare prophetically.

Remember Isaac said: *“I want you to pronounce a blessing on me.”*

That is what I am doing now.

If you believe, if you receive—you will have that kind of virtue in people.

They will ask: *“How did it happen?”*

*Genesis 38:29.*

This woman asked: *“What a breach you have made for yourself to be the firstborn!”*

*“How did it happen? You were just behind. Nobody knew you.”*

Word of Life—just like that word:

People don’t know you…  And suddenly, you’re on the limelight?

That is the kind of breakthrough—the firstborn breakthrough—you will experience this month.  Hallelujah!

This is the season for *uncommon breakthrough—after the order of Perez.*  Praise the Lord.

And watch this:

*Esau traded his firstborn rights for temporary satisfaction—a bowl of stew.*  Perez was behind—but he broke forth.

Sometimes life is funny.   Sometimes it looks like you are very late.  Sometimes it looks like others are moving forward: *“Ah, they’re going ahead!”*   But the *anointing of the firstborn will give you supernatural speed.*

Zerah was in front.  His hand was hindering Perez.   But my Bible says: *Zerah pulled back his hand.*

For your breakthrough—listen to me:

*He pulled back his hand—and his brother was born first.*

*Any hand hindering your breakthrough—whether at work, in your family—I don’t care which hand—any demonic hand, anyone who dares stretch their hand against you to steal your position—his hand will wither.*   It shall be exposed. It shall be destroyed—in the name of Jesus Christ.

After Zerah removed his hand, Perez—because he was the firstborn—brought forth breakthrough.

*You will break through—in the name of Jesus Christ.*

Those who saw you, they looked at you like you were far behind.

You may even look at yourself and think: *“I’m late.”*  I want to let you know: *You are not late.*  *You are the firstborn.*

Say with me:

*“I am not late. I am the firstborn.”*

Ahab was going very far ahead.  But the anointing of God came upon Elijah. He ran so fast that he *overtook Ahab.* You are receiving the anointing to overtake.

1 Kings 18:46 KJV

And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

I say: *You are receiving.*  The hand of the Lord is falling upon you now.  *You will run faster than those who went before you.*

I say: *You will run faster than those who went ahead of you.*

Word of Life—God will give us speed.

Say to me:

*“I am the firstborn. I am not late.”*  *Praise the Lord.*

You will run.

Those who mocked you in the past will announce your celebration

Every chair the enemy has designed to keep you stagnated shall catch fore

Your breakthrough shall surprise your enemies.

The miracle of how did it happen shall manifest in your life

God will lift you up where nobody will pull you down

There’s a kind of miracle called: *“How did it happen?”* It shall manifest in your life.

God will lift you up—where nobody will pull you down—in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.

Lift your hand. Lift your voice, wherever you are.

Start declaring:

 *Closing Declarations*

Say with me:

- I am God’s firstborn, registered in heaven, sanctified for dominion, and ordained for greatness.

- I reject the spirit of Esau. I will not trade my birthright for temporary pleasures.  My inheritance is secure in Christ.

- Every Zerah hand blocking my breakthrough withers now.  My path is cleared for supernatural advancement.*

- This is my season of ‘How did this happen?’ miracles. My enemies will marvel at my sudden shift.

- I break out of every limitation. Like Perez, I am breaking through barriers and claiming new territories.*

Hallelujah!

In Jesus’ precious name, we have declared. We have prayed. And we say:  Amen and amen.

Please, dear friends, sons and daughters in the Lord—please *fast and declare:*

*“God of Perez, I want a breakthrough in my life.”*

And He will grant you a breakthrough—this week, this month—and it will be clear that you are the firstborn, in Jesus’ name.
