*CAST DOWN BUT NOT DESTROYED*
*READ*
The apostle Paul wrote, in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; [9] Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed"
*REFLECT*
Forces of darkness are arrayed against us, shooting fiery arrows to hurt, to harm, to hit us the way they did to the apostle Paul in this text.
Those arrows can be a persecution. It can be a betrayal. It can be a loss of a loved one. It can be an employment shake-up. It can be a rejection. It can be a financial challenge or any other kind of attacks from the enemy against us.
Sometimes when we are hit with such force, we are knocked down and thrown face down to the ground. We are devastated. We are bleeding. We try to
grab hold of any semblance of joy or hope but it's not working at all. The pain is just too much. It is unbearable.
When hit by the enemy, there are always 2 choices :
- whether to give up or to get up;
- whether to fight or to flight;
- whether to find a way or to run way;
- whether to be a victim or to be a victor;
- whether to remain crushed under the feet of the enemy or to arise by faith and crush the enemy under our feet.
What is your choice?
