What is reproach? It is defined as the mark of disgrace attached into someone's life. Throughout the Bible, there are a number of passages that speak of God’s people living in a state of reproach – that is, a state of shame and disgrace that resulted in their becoming a laughingstock, having to endure the ridicule, mocking, and scoffing of onlookers. As bad as this would be for any people, it was even worse for the people of God, since any shame they endured reflected directly upon God as well.
As far as the covenant with God is concerned, we are not called for a life of shame and reproach but of glory and virtue as it is written in 2 Peter 1:3, "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue".
The Lord tells me to tell to someone this day : "I WILL TAKE AWAY YOUR REPROACH AND MANIFEST MY GLORY IN YOU"
= PRAYERS =
PRAYER 1 | ETERNAL FATHER GOD, TAKE AWAY THE REPROACH OF BARENNESS IN MY LIFE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!
When Jacob’s wife Rachael couldn’t conceive children, she became a reproach to those who knew her. In the Jewish culture, to be childless was thought to be under a curse from God Who alone opens the womb. This was a very difficult thing to endure but God has taken away the reproach of barrenness in her life and did the same many centuries later to Elizabeth.
I pray my God to do the same for you. May he remove from your life the reproach of all that is fruitless in your life in the name of JESUS CHRIST!
Pray with Genesis 30:23 And she conceived, and bore a son, and said, God hath taken away my reproach.
Pray with Luke 1:25 This is the grace that the Lord gave me when he looked upon me to take away my reproach among men.
PRAYER 2 | ETERNAL FATHER GOD, TAKE AWAY THE REPROACH OF FAMINE (poverty, limitation, stagnation, struggle for survival, misery, sickness, mediocrity, joblessness, ...)
When we look at Jabez, we find that he wanted to change his situation. He was desperate to get rid of his reproach. He didn't want to remain in the same situation. He wanted the 'excellence' or 'extra.' He didn't want to remain satisfied with what he had and what people say or think about him. And he did something. He prayed. And God answered his prayer and took away the reproach of limitation in his life.
I pray my God to do the same for you. I pray him to remove from you the reproach of all that is miserable in your life in the name of Jesus Christ!
Pray with Ezekiel 36:30 "And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
Pray with 1 Chronicles 4:10 "Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."
